Himayatnagar is a northern taluka covering 474 square kilometres, with a Census 2011 population of 109,727 and a density of 231 per square kilometre - well below the district average of 319. It sits in the upper part of the district, in the belt approaching the Penganga.

Himayatnagar lies north of Bhokar and west of Kinwat, in the district's northern third. The Penganga river belt runs through this part of Nanded district, and Sahasrakund waterfall - a cascade on the Penganga - is associated with the Sahastrakund village area in this taluka, with access also commonly described from the Islapur side in neighbouring Kinwat.
The low population density is characteristic of the district's northern talukas, which are larger, less densely settled and more varied in terrain than the country around Nanded city.

National Highway 161A runs through Himayatnagar. Its route links Mahur, Kinwat, Himayatnagar, Mudkhed, Waghala and Mukhed, which means the highway continues from here south-east through Mudkhed and on towards the Nanded Waghala area.
Himayatnagar also has a station on the branch line that leaves Mudkhed Junction for Adilabad, alongside Bhokar, Sahasrakund and Kinwat. Mudkhed connects onward to Nanded.
We deliberately do not publish fixed kilometre figures between towns. Road distance changes with the route taken, and public sources disagree widely. Every page below gives the direction and the actual road or rail corridor instead, plus a live directions link that reflects current conditions.
Himayatnagar's highway and rail links make Nanded more accessible than its distance alone would suggest, and the city remains the destination for specialist services.
If you are travelling down NH-161A or coming through Mudkhed by rail, message us on WhatsApp with your expected arrival time and we will confirm what appointment slots are free.
